Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel spent a lifetime dedicated to the pursuit of learning through imagination. The Children's Museum of Houston (CMH) invites you to celebrate the life and times of the literary genius who taught the world “the more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you’ll go.” His birthday falls on March 2. ON-GOING ACTIVITIES: •The Cat in the Hat: Jump in and learn all about number patterns while creating your very own Cat in the Hat top hat at the ExxonMobil Math Cart! And remember “it is fun to have fun, but you have to know how.” •The Lorax Project: “I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.” Stop by the EcoStation and learn how you can help save the environment just like the Lorax. •Horton Hears a Who: Drop by Junktion and make elephant ears like Horton’s and learn about Dr. Seuss’s message: “A person’s a person no matter how small”. •Green Eggs and Ham: Do you like green eggs and ham? Make some delicious “green eggs and ham” and learn all about the importance of trying out new foods at the Power Science Lab. •Dr. Seuss Pop-Up Cards: Stop by the Alexander Art Academy and wish Dr. Seuss a happy birthday by creating a pop-up birthday card. •Cat–apults: The Cat in the Hat has always taken a dreary day and brought out the fun! Engineer a catapult from recycled materials and imagine the excitement as our red-and-white-striped wonder flies through the air at Inventor’s Workshop. • If I Ran A Zoo: Gerald McGrew has many interesting animals in his zoo. What animals would you have if YOU ran the zoo? Make your own at Junktion. •Bartholomew and the Oobleck: Come discover this great book at the Science Station and explore the ooey gooey Oobleck from the story with your own hands! ***Events, times and activities subject to change.
